Kaivalyashram Swami Punyatithi Mahotsav
Kaivalyashram swami's punyathithi mahotsav was celebrated on 8th of January at his Goa math.Established in 1920 Kaivalyashram swami's math is located at Jharbaag, Kothambi, Goa. Far away from todays modernized world this place is surrounded by iron ore dumping yard and river mandovi.
Mahotsav is celebrated for three days annually with pooja of swami's idol, traditional foot wears(paduka) followed by bhajans, kirtans in nights on initial two days. Gopal kaala, fugadi, paavani and mahaprasad on third day. Gopal kaala is a main attraction of the third day. A boy dressed like lord krishna breaks dahi handi after traditional dancing of devotes is performed. It is known that if any one preserves piece of this earthen (handi)pot in kitchen, it brings prosperity. Being a first time visitor to this function, I really enjoyed the third day of the function. And will like to give credit to my wife for pressurizing me to visit this place.
